You will be responsible for creating a wiki page about your Spanish-speaking country. This is the same country that you study for current events. The goal of this wiki page is to share research and knowledge about the country with your classmates to help make connections to your current events and to better understand the Spanish-speaking world. Your audience is the general public (whoever wants to learn about your country) and the Spanish classes here at HST. You will give a short presentation of 5 minutes, sharing the most important information with the class.
The wiki should include the following information: General information Capital City, Population, demographics, religion, official language(s), major exports/industries, monetary system Geography (include map) What is the land like? How does its geography affect its economy? Weather and climate Brief History Indigenous groups, colonization, independence Government/Current political situation What type of government does the country have? Who is the current leader? What is the political climate like in the country? Culture Where applicable: food, clothing, sports, holidays/celebrations, music, art, etc Tourism (include photos where possible) If someone were to visit the country, where are places that he/she should visit? Current Events What’s going on in the country at this time? Choose two articles to briefly summarize. Address the significance. If possible, connect it back to the general information, brief history, or government/current political situation.

Grading: The wiki is worth one test grade. The current event section is worth one quiz grade. 10 points will be deducted each day it is late. Use the rubric to ensure that you have completed all parts of the assignment for maximum points. Business attire is not required but will earn maximum credit.
